EQTC 2026 brings Europe’s quantum community to Dublin
Registration is open for the European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) 2026, taking place from 30 November to 3 December 2026 at the Convention Centre Dublin, Ireland. The programme spans science, technology, industry and enterprise, policy, and skills, bringing together strategic priorities, scientific advances, technological developments and real-world applications.
Bringing together researchers, industry representatives and policymakers, EQTC 2026 will connect advances in quantum science and technology with Europe’s strategic priorities and emerging applications. The programme spans science, technology, industry and enterprise, policy, and skills.
QPIC-AI encourages its partners and wider network to register and participate, exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration across Europe’s quantum ecosystem.
About EQTC: Connecting research, industry and policy
The EQTC 2026, will address developments across four quantum technology pillars: computing, simulation, communication, and sensing and metrology.
Against the backdrop of the forthcoming EU Quantum Act and the next phase of the European Quantum Flagship, the conference will provide a forum to discuss research priorities, technological progress and pathways to industrial adoption. Representatives from EU Member States, the European Commission and international organisations will contribute perspectives on the sector’s development.
Programme Highlights
- The planned announcement of the EU Quantum Act by Henna Virkkunen, European Commission Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy.
- Discussions on the Strategic Research and Industry Agenda (SRIA) and priorities for Europe’s quantum research and innovation community.
- The new Quantum Verticals Exchange (QVX) Day on 3 December, connecting technology providers, application developers and potential users to explore practical applications, industry needs and opportunities for adoption.
For EU-funded projects, the conference offers an opportunity to connect with complementary initiatives, exchange research findings and strengthen links with industry, policymakers and potential users.
The EU Quantum Act in focus
The forthcoming EU Quantum Act aims to support research and innovation, expand industrial capacity, and strengthen supply-chain resilience and governance. Dedicated conference sessions will explore its direction and implications for the quantum community.
Opening Address & European Quantum Act
The opening session will feature:
Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, European Commission, and
James Lawless, Ireland’s Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
Quantum Act: From Policy to Impact
Moderated by Tommaso Calarco, this discussion will bring together Henna Virkkunen and James Lawless with:
Thomas Strohm (European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC)),
Lene B. Oddershede (Novo Nordisk Foundation),
Nikolay Vitanov (Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski) and
Jan Goetz (IQM Quantum Computers),
Unpacking the Quantum Act
Mr Killian Gross, Director for Enabling and Emerging Technologies at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), will provide further insights into the initiative.
Who should attend?
EQTC 2026 welcomes researchers, technology developers, industry leaders, start-ups and scale-ups, policymakers, investors and funding bodies. The conference is also relevant to organisations working on quantum education and workforce development, and international stakeholders seeking collaboration with Europe’s quantum community.
